Good Spirit Lake

Good Spirit Lake has always been a spot for rest and relaxation, ever since settlers arrived in 1887. Many of those settlers moved on to build farming homesteads near the area, but two families stayed - one allowing campers to stay on their section of land, now known as Canora Beach.

The lake itself (approx 45 square kilometers) and surrounding area has since been recognized for its ecological importance, and has been preserved as a provincial park. Seasonal campers and permanent residents love to enjoy the iconic sandy beaches around Good Spirit, as well as swimming, fishing and other outdoor activities. Hikers can trek along the Trans Canada Trail and explorers can search around the naturally occurring sand dunes (Dune Discovery Interpretive Trail). Lodging, dining, an 18 hole golf course and fuel are available at the nearby Good Spirit Golf Resort.
