Canora

The town of Canora is nestled into the junction of highways No. 5 and 9, a 30 minute drive North of Yorkton, SK. Canora's beginnings were owed partly to the Canadian Northern Railway, in which the first two letters of each word of the company make up the town's name. A number of nearby lakes and woods are in close proximity, which allowed the town to build through trade. Today, those areas are easily accessible provincial parks and recreational lakes. What makes Canora truly unique is its Ukrainian heritage, evident as you enter. The Ukrainian Statue, Lesia, welcomes you to the town in traditional fashion: holding braided bread (Kolach) and salt. What better way to make you feel at home than food? 

Students can attend Kindergarten to Grade 12 at Canora’s two schools, and there is a local branch of the Parkland Regional College for those wishing to take Post Secondary education close to home.  Canora features an acute-care hospital, nursing home, primary healthcare clinic, ambulance service, chiropractor, optometrist, home care, public health services, RCMP detachment, volunteer fire & rescue services  and massage therapy clinic.
