Theodore

Theodore is a village located approximately 40 km Northwest of Yorkton, Sk on the Yellowhead (#16) Highway. The community received its name from the father of one of the original settlers - Theodor. As the same with many small communities in the prairies, settlers were attracted to the area under the lure of cheap land development opportunities. 

Still to this day, agriculture and livestock are the 2 most important factors that contribute to the local economy. The village is a short drive away from Whitesand River, where the Whitesand Provincial Park offers amazing outdoor activities along the shore. The river and accompanying lake offer great fishing for Walleye, Perch and Pike. When you're asked if you want to go fishing up at the dam, it's definitely the Theodore Dam!

Theodore itself offers a few services to its residents, including a faith based K-8 school (rural bus accommodates 9-12 students by transporting them to Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton, SK), daycare, public library, a health centre and a recreational facility.
